Isla Lester

Youth Eco-Champion

Isla Lester, Aged 11, is an award-winning eco-champion. Some of her achievements include Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots School of the Year 2019, Young Volunteer Award and the Green Blue Peter Badge.She was highly commended for bbc bitesize the regenerators.  She was involved in writing the youth manifesto for surfers against sewage which was used for cop26. Isla spoke to the environment minister Michael gove about a deposit return system. Isla is also the UK Ambassador for Australian radio station funky kids radio and she interviewed Ricky Kej and Dr Arun. In addition she started a eco club in middle school known as waste warriors, opened her local world Earth Day with the mayor last year and worked alongside Damers to encourage local shops to give up 3 single use plastics. She also writes her own eco blog for her school.
